What is a Run?

Traditionally, Kiesel Guitars selects a specific model for an annual Run. While the concept dates back to the mid-2010s, not everyone may know what exactly the event is.

Here is a rundown on Runs.

Definition

A Run is essentially a curated spec package that offers further discounts on a specific model. Consisting of three stages, players choose the level that fits their tastes and needs. While customization in a Run has its limitations, many fan-favorite options are included to appeal to a wide audience. Each stage has a signature look: Stage 1 typically features solid colors, Stage 2 Cali Bursts, and Stage 3 premier woods and finishes, though this has changed over the years. Runs are not guaranteed to run each year, but if they do, it'll be at most once.

Limited-Edition

One of the most unique parts of a Run is the limited aspects. A specific model is chosen only once; when a Run of a certain guitar or bass is over, there will not be another one with that instrument.

The limited features go beyond just the model. Both the limited price and exclusive features are part of a Run. Savings at their lowest level start at $100-$300 but can easily exceed $700 with the ultra-customization of Stage 3. In addition, each Run launches exciting, never-before-seen options. In 2023, the A2 Run launched two new colors, while the Zeus Run featured Colorshift Splatter.

Latest Run

2026's Run saw massive discounts on one of Kiesel's most popular models: the Kyber Headless. Not only was the base price cut by $100, but fan-favorite options were heavily discounted or free. Hi Viz Yellow (normally $100), one of Kiesel's newest finishes, was free, while Sparkle colors ranged from $100 to $150 off.

As the Stages go up, so do the cost savings. When adding up the savings for Stage 3, it's easy to exceed $1,000 in discounts.
